These moulds are disposable or reusable, fabricated from specially formulated plastic or stainless steel, and certain models have wings to ensure level embedding. Specialized moulds create a uniformly shaped, flat-surface specimen block for frozen sectioning, and all base moulds are chemical resistant. Moulds are precisely rounded for optimal paraffin ribboning.
